Destinations: Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Aberdare National Park
Highlights: Game viewing from The Ark, beautiful highland forest, big five, black & white rhino.

Day 1: Nairobi - Aberdares National Park
Depart Nairobi and head north into Kenya’s fertile central highlands. You will pass roadside stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables as well as some of Kenya’s largest plantations and orchards. After enjoying lunch at the Aberdare Country Club, you will be transferred with your overnight bag to The Ark in the Aberdares National Park. At The Ark, there are optional activities to choose from including game drives, walking safaris and guided bird walks - or you can just enjoy the views from one of the three viewing decks. After dinner, settle in and enjoy viewing the procession of animals at the waterhole. Night time is particularly spectacular, when it is possible to spot many animals which are nocturnal or shy animals that can elude you during daytime game drives.

Day 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Rise early for a morning game drive and then return to the lodge for breakfast. You can either enjoy more game driving throughout the day, or relax at the lodge and swim in the pool. Meals and overnight at lodge. Previously known as Sweetwaters, Ol Pejeta is a privately-owned 90,000 acre wildlife conservancy. Originally a cattle ranch, in some areas you will still see wildlife and cattle grazing happily side by side. The conservancy sits on the equator, high on a plateau, between the foothills of the Aberdares range and Mount Kenya. It hosts a wide variety of animals, including the ‘big five’, plus many bird species. On a clear day, and normally in the morning, you may have panoramic views of Mt Kenya and her snow-capped peaks.  The conservancy has a variety of habitats including thick scrub, marshlands, rivers and open plains. Ol Pejeta is committed to conservation and has a number of projects to protect endangered species, including white and black rhino. They also have a chimpanzee sanctuary which is home to these primates who have been rescued from abusive or captive situations. There are a number of unique experiences which you can add to a safari including a night game drive and lion tracking (booked locally).
